Feature: This is an ELx705 needle with a medium ball point and chrome finish. The ELx705 needle system is specially designed for cover stitch machines. This needle is designed for use in electronic multi-purpose sergers that do the overlock, cover, safety, and mock-safety stitches. This needle has a long groove on both the front and back as well as a slightly larger scarf and a medium ball point. The chrome finish (CF) reduces heat and wear and aids in slipping through the fabric. Consult your manual for the proper needle selection for your brand and model number.
Feature: Medium ball point. This needle is designed for use in electronic multi-purpose overlockers / sergers that do overlock, cover, safety and mock-safety stitches. Not suitable for use in normal home sewing machines or embroidery machines. Machines should specify ELx705 system.

Overlock / Serger needles have a groove on the front and back sides of the blade to reduce skipped stitches. The second long groove is necessary to create chain stitches like overlock or coverlock stitches.

ELx705 SUK CF needles have increased strength due to a reinforced blade, leading to less needle breakage and straighter stitches.
ELx705 SUK CF needles have a medium ball point suitable for many knit fabrics.
ELx705 SUK CF needles have a Chrome Finish (CF), increasing wear resistance, reducing heat and wear, and aids in slipping through the fabric.

The ELx705 SUK CF needle is suitable for knits and wovens.

Special sewing machines like overlock and coverlock machines often require special needle systems such as the ELx705 SUK CF. These unique needles are adapted to the requirements of the respective model and are not interchangeable with other household or overlock needles.

Like most household needles, the SCHMETZ ELx705 SUK CF Overlock needle has a flat shank for easy positioning in the sewing machine.

The key feature of the ELx705 SUK CF Overlock needle that distinguishes it from other household needles is the second thread groove. It supports the formation of chain stitches, such as overlock or coverlock stitches, and ensures that only low thread tension is required to form the stitch.

Like the Jersey (Ball Point) needle, the ELx705 SUK CF has a medium ball point, making it perfect for knitted fabrics, such as jersey or sweatshirt fabrics.

Size 65/9 needles are suitable for most fine fabrics.
Size 80/12 needles are suitable for most lightweight fabrics.
Size 90/14 needles are suitable for most medium and heavyweight fabrics.

The difference between ELx705 SUK CF and ELx705 CF needles is that the ELx705 CF has a slightly rounded tip for universal use on numerous materials, whilst the ELx705 SUK CF has a medium ball tip which is particularly suitable for all types of knitwear, such as jersey.
The CF in the needle designation stands for Chrome Finish. This means that the needles are coated with chrome.

Some Speedy Press products—particularly our in-house manufactured units—are made to order and may require 1–3 days before dispatch. If there are unexpected stock shortages or delays beyond our control, we will keep you updated and advise of any extended lead times. (You always retain the right to cancel for a full refund.)

If Your Order Arrives Damaged

If your item arrives in less than perfect condition, please contact us immediately so we can take it up with the carrier and arrange a replacement. If the outer box is damaged on arrival, please note this on the delivery acceptance form.

Right to Cancel

You may cancel your order for any reason up to 30 days after ordering. If your order has not yet been dispatched, we will cancel it and issue a full refund. If your order has been dispatched, you will need to return the product to us in its original packaging, unused, and in a resalable condition. Refunds for returned items are made minus postage costs. Returned goods must be received within 30 days of the original order date.

Apart from wiping the heating plate after use and occasionally replacing the ironing covers and foam underfelt pads, there is no maintenance required.
